Romantic Italian Weddings

Past Weddings

Peter and Samantha-Villa Baroncino, UK

I would like to thank Marco and his incredible team for everything they did for us during our wedding week at Villa Baroncino, in August 2013.  From the moment Pete and I arrived to the day we left we were made to feel so welcome, and nothing was too much trouble for Marco or Ina.

On the day of the wedding,  Pete and I went to the Town Hall in Cortona to officially “get married” in the morning, and Marco translated for us which was a lovely personal touch. When we returned to the villa, our guests were enjoying the breakfast we had arranged for them. We weren’t getting married until 4pm so it was going to be a long time until we all ate again. During breakfast, we mingled with our excited guests, all the while a lovely atmosphere was developing around the villa. I wanted a relaxed wedding day, so got into my bikini and had a couple of hours chilling by the pool before the hairdresser and make-up artist arrived.

The hairdressers, Tendenza, did exactly what I wanted, and they also worked their magic on 6 bridesmaids, friends and my Mum.  The make-up artist was equally as amazing. As was the florist, Federico Berti. I sent him photos of what I envisaged, and he created the bouquets to perfection. He was spot on with the colours, the style and the flowers.

The wedding was co-ordinated with such precision, thanks to Marco and Ina (we had a dress rehearsal the previous day) and the wedding party knew exactly what to do and where to stand. The ceremony was conducted in the beautiful landscaped gardens of the Villa surrounded by Cyprus tress and beautiful flowers. The weather was perfect, the sun was shining with a slight hint of a breeze to take the edge off.

We chose Kamil to create our wedding video. He was around whilst I was getting ready and also spent time with Pete, but didn’t get in the way. He was a pleasure to have around actually, very funny, creative and did a fantastic job with our wedding video, which we received a few weeks after we got home. Our photographer was Simone Millotti, and together he and Kamil made a great team. I was really happy with the wedding photos. We were taken to the most breathtakingly beautiful sunflower field, not far from the villa.  These gave us some of our best photos.

When we returned to the villa after having photos, and after our guests had enjoyed Prosecco and canapés around the pool, we were ready to make our way into the marquee, where a mouth-watering banquet of Italian food awaited us.

The day turned into night, DJ Alex arrived and the party started. As the night drew to a close I looked around and remember thinking I didn’t want it to end. I was a princess for a day, surrounded by best friends and family in a location that can only be described as perfection. It was everything I wanted and more.

Villa Baroncino was better in real life, and I feel that some photos don’t do it justice. In a way, I was pleased we hadn’t been to see the villa beforehand, because when I arrived it blew me away with how perfect it was. The week we were there was equally as wonderful as the wedding day, all guests were pleased with their accommodation and we had Ciao Ciaos down the road for nice meals, cheesy karaoke and drinks on the evenings.

The sum up the entire experience, Villa Baroncino oozes sophistication in the quintessentially beautiful Umbrian countryside, has perfect weather, accommodating and welcoming hosts whose sole aim is to give you the best wedding day you can imagine. It was out of this world.

Thank you Marco and your team.
